Hello fellas; been several years since I've been on this site. Built my 300zx back in 2003/2004 to the tune of 640rwhp on C16. Took it to the track once ran best of 11.01 at 132 mph. Custom Pentroof style manifolds from Japan, HKS GT-RS turbos and Autronic SM2 Engine Mangement system. Never achieved a 10 second pass as I was kicked off the track. No rollcage and no other local quarter mile options. Quite frankly, the car was not all the fun on the street as it was a laggy pig. Recently I learned about all the new breather mods and decided to send my car down to Greg at Specialty Z for a refresh. New 3' exhaust, 2.5" intercooler piping, from JWT 400 cams (don't ask why I went that small I don't know) to JWT 500's, larger throttle bodies, and probably most importantly a new tune from Greg. And he agreed on the laggy pig idea and feels there is going to be a large improvement on fun factor and driveability once he gets it dialed in. I plan to finally get that 10 second slip when I get my car back...then possible retire it to the street for good. I was running ET streets on stock rear wheels, 4.10 leader gears. But getting a predictable launch on a 5 speed is a challenge and looking at other edges that may help me out. Is there a 2 step available for our cars like the WOTbox? Other options? Also, anyone have experience with a 15" wheel and full drag slick? How much of an advantage will this give me over the stock wheel and ET streets? Not looking to spend money needlessly. Located in BC, race at Mission Raceway, and some Okanagan Interior 1/8 mile tracks occasionally. If any of the 604Z crew are interested in a private track rental later this summer let me know. Will be heading there likely with Marko from Forcefed Performance and a slew of other cars and people. Thanks for your input. Mike
